Speaker's EDGE Provides Motivation and Tips for Speaking Success

Last year I read World Class Speaking by Craig Valentine. It was one of the best books I've read about speaking, designing speeches, and building a speaking business. Craig is also a contributor to The Speaker's Edge, along with four other full-time speakers (Mark Brown, Darren LaCroix, Patricia Fripp, and Ed Tate). When I saw this, I quickly purchased this book as well.

In addition to promoting for their World Champions EDGE speaking program, which I'm likely to sign up for after reading the book, The Speaker's EDGE provides short, simple, clear, useful chapters about speaking.

This book is organized around three parts, "Platform Presence," "Content Excellence," and "Winning Techniques." The chapters are short and provide just enough information to help you understand the concept. As much as I enjoy digging into a meaty book, there was something very nice about the short, to-the-point chapters written by these authors.

One of my favorite chapters is called "The Daily Debrief." The concept is this: If you improve a little day-by-day, you'll find your way to success. The chapter is short but clear, and is a paradigm for the whole book--you'll either take action or you won't.

In the end, this is a great book for speakers, or prospective speakers.
